5th World Congress on Tattoo and Pigment Research (WCTP 2021)
The 5th World Congress on Tattoo and Pigment Research took place on 24-26 August in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, and queued into the successful events that take place across Europe biannually
since 2013.
The congress summits an unrivaled assembly of researchers, tattoo and permanent make-up artists, ink producers, governmental institutions, dermatologists and other health care professionals to discuss the current developments in the field. The aim of the European Society of Tattoo and Pigment Research (ESTP) is to spread knowledge and enhancing tattoo safety.
Focus of this year’s conference was not only sharing the experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic, but most pressingly the new REACH restriction on tattoo and permanent make up inks and its major effect on availability of legal inks in the EU. In addition, the best artists, researchers and physicians worldwide presented current trends of tattooing and permanent make up, studies on tattoo complications and current developments in research on side effects.
